TTUHSC El Paso - Transmountain and Tenet Healthcare have collaborated on the development of a new set of clinical and educational programs, designed to educate medical students, nursing students and resident physicians; to include a (10-10-10) Internal Medicine residency program. The facilities are designed to serve the healthcare needs of El Paso and Southern New Mexico, while also providing a world-class training site for up to 100 medical residents across a multi-year program.

  Major/Essential Functions

• Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings
 
• Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registrations, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standing
 
• Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents
 
• Participates in research and/or scholarly activities in the department
 
• Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• M.D. or D.O. degree
 
• Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
 
• Successful completion of ACGME accredited residency training in Internal Medicine
 
• Successful completion of ACGME accredited fellowship training in Infectious Disease

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
 
• Board certification in Infectious Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine
 
• Experience teaching medical students and residents
 
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
 
• Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
