TTUHSC El Paso Seeks Family Medicine Physicians
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is recruiting for board certified MD or DO applicants for full time Faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in a department that enjoys strong institutional support. These departmental faculty positions are designed to address the needs of the expanding medical education program
The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine has an innovative curriculum for medical students. The third year clerkship in family medicine currently is 6 weeks in length, combined with a 15 week-long longitudinal selective experience of one half-day per week. There is currently an 8-8-8 ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program. Both residents and faculty see patients in a modern Family Medicine Center with a state of the art electronic medical record system. There is also a strong ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
The department also enjoys a successful clinical research division with the focus on cancer prevention and population health. The department has an active inpatient service at the University Medical Center of El Paso, and also admits patients to the El Paso Children’s Hospital. Duties will include direct patient care, primarily at the main clinic site in northeast El Paso, numerous opportunities to supervise and teach family medicine residents in the outpatient and inpatient settings, and teach medical students across all four years of the medical school curriculum. Scholarly activity is also expected of all faculty. The successful candidates will receive faculty appointments at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, together with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Qualifications:
· M.D. or D.O. degree
· Completion of an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program
· Board certification in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine
· Texas medical licensure or eligibility for Texas medical license
Additional training or experience in obstetrics for the candidates interested in practicing obstetrics
Emerging regional national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
