Primary Location: Primary location is the Garrity campus of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, Nampa in Nampa, Idaho. Outreach clinics 1-2 times per month may be required at other health system sites within 2 hours drive time of Boise, Idaho.
Status & Model: Full Time (1.0 FTE) - Employment or Professional Services Agreement (PSA)
Requirements: Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO); successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited cardiovascular disease fellowship training program; current, unrestricted full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registrations with Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy and DEA; board certification EITHER through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Diseases OR the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology (or obtain such certifications within 3 years of employment); secure appropriate hospital medical staff privileges to include Stents, IVUS, Interventional left and right heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms, holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing & supervision, stress echos, and pacemaker implantations and checks. Nuclear cardiology skills are welcome but not required. Echo board certification is also not a requirement. Interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is also available.
Work Schedule: Primarily a traditional weekday schedule.
Call: Call shared equitably with other Interventional Cardiologists (1:4) with opportunity for paid excess call coverage.
EMR/EHR: McKesson Horizon Cardiology CPACS. Inpatient EMR /Computerized Order Entry (CPOE): Cerner PowerChart. Ambulatory EMR – eClinical Works transitioning to Athena.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400 provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist to be part of a 7-member cardiology group practice in Nampa: 3 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 Invasive Cardiologists and a Nurse Practitioner. The Nampa practice is part of a larger, employed and integrated 15 member Cardiology team reaching across the health system. Cardiologists participate with hospital administration in managing the cardiovascular service line collaboratively. SAMG, with primary and specialty care providers at 74 clinic locations, is also a member of the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance, a network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers.
The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute is an outstanding comprehensive cardiovascular program with many other differentiating services which include an accredited Chest Pain center, a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program, a CVOR that operated on over 400 patients last year, a CV Research program, advanced EP lab with Stereotaxis robotics, and a Women’s Heart Care Program.
Requirements include a strong cardiovascular disease background with excellent training as well as a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. In providing this support in a multi-disciplinary and collegial fashion, you will obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System’s heart care programs across all communities we serve. This opportunity also requires granting of privileges at SARMC and other system hospitals as needed. The Saint Alphonsus Heart Center in Nampa - conveniently located off the I-84 & Garrity exit - includes a new cardiac cath lab, a cath lab with peripheral capabilities installed in 2014, and Cardiac Recovery Unit. With quick access to full service emergency and heart care services, the Saint Alphonsus Heart Center in Nampa has the only 24/7 interventional cath lab in Canyon County and is the fastest growing cardiology program in the region. The cardiac cath lab at Saint Alphonsus Heart Center in Nampa is a multidisciplinary department staffed with board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technologists and cardiovascular technologists. All clinical staff are ACLS certified and many have additional cardiovascular certifications.
