Practice Scope: Full-spectrum medical oncology and hematology practice within a vibrant and growing multispecialty group practice, based in Boise; once per week outreach clinic is expected.

Practice Model: Employment or Professional Services Agreement (PSA)

Status: Full-Time (1.0 Full-Time Equivalent)

Availability: Immediate

Staffing Model: Six physician medical oncology & hematology group with three main locations in Boise, Nampa and Caldwell along with two outreach clinics in Ontario and Emmett.  The Boise location has three physicians whereas the Nampa has one and the Caldwell location has two physicians.  All the physicians help to provide telemedicine coverage from time to time for Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City and Grande Ronde Hospital.  In addition, all provide consultations to all Saint Alphonsus hospitals as well as West Valley Medical Center.

Requirements: Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO); successful completion of accredited ACGME internal medicine residency and hematology - medical oncology fellowship training programs; current, unrestricted full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy and DEA; board certifications in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) (or obtain such certifications within 3 years of employment/contract start).

Work Schedule: Each physician has 4 clinic days and one day off per week.

Call: Hematology/Oncology call is determined by the department of medicine at SARMC and shared equitably among the SAMG hematology and oncology physicians.   Evening and weekend call is 1:6. During the work week, day-time call is covered by a full time medical oncology hospitalist.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a well-trained board certified medical oncologist/hematologist who is willing to support an established oncology practice as part of a growing cancer care program within a multi-specialty medical group framework.

The ideal candidate will commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care while demonstrating and modeling our organization’s core values of reverence, a commitment to those who are poor, justice, stewardship and integrity. As a member of the medical group, you will also need to obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System’s cancer care program across all communities we serve.  The opportunity also requires the granting of full privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and consultative privileges at affiliated Saint Alphonsus inpatient facilities.

About The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Program
The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care program comprises clinic-based practices across southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon to include the following current locations: a free-standing Cancer Care Center in Caldwell, Idaho; Cancer Care Centers on Saint Alphonsus hospital campuses in Boise and Nampa, Idaho and Ontario and Baker City, Oregon;  and a Saint Alphonsus Rural Cancer Care Clinic based on the campus of Valor Health Hospital in Emmett, Idaho.  In both our Boise and Caldwell locations, we have radiation oncology adjacent to medical oncology, offering patients a one stop approach to their cancer treatments.   We offer an integrated approach to care with support services including nurse navigators, social workers, dietician, and financial counseling.

The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center (SA CCC) is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. And, in 2013, the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) granted the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center the Outstanding Achievement Award; the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center is among only 19% of the programs surveyed who achieved this prestigious distinction. Moreover, the program became Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI)recertified in 2017. In 2015 we received  "3 Year Accreditation" from  American College of Surgeons/ Commission on Cancer – which replaces the "3 Year with Commendation/Outstanding Achievement Award" we received in 2012.  The SA CCC also collaborates with the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium, a research cooperative group administered by our Trinity Health partner, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Through this affiliation, Saint Alphonsus is able to offer over 100 clinical trials to our patients.
