IM Infectious Diseases - Riverside
The philosophy and beliefs of Southern California Permanente Medical Group are rooted in the founding principles of the Kaiser Permanente integrated managed care partnership established in 1945 between physicians and the Kaiser Foundation. That word – partnership – is important. We are a physician-led partnership with a mission to transform the practice of medicine.
At SCPMG, we continue to empower our providers to lead. We understand that our success is made possible through the skills, ambition and leadership of our physicians and professional staff. We invest in our physicians and staff through continuing education, training, technology support and a nation-leading Physician Wellness program. And to further the legacy of our philosophy we are investing in the future: the Permanente Medical School – scheduled to open in 2019 – will train future generations of doctors to practice responsible, ethical, collaborative and fulfilling medicine.
We continually improve the health and wellness of our patients, our physicians, and our communities with our equation of responsible, ethical and effective care.
Join us as we continue to deliver The Answer to Healthcare in America.
About the area
The Riverside area is a convenient gateway to Southern California’s natural wonders, with excellent proximity to the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear Lake, and Lake Arrowhead (hiking, snow- and water-skiing), Wine Country in Temecula, as well as the low and high deserts of Coachella Valley—including Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park. It is also in close proximity to the beaches and coastal areas in Orange County. Riverside itself has a nice, modern downtown, and our area offers relatively affordable housing and less traffic than others in the region. It communities within Riverside and Coachella Valley also have great school districts.
With its large geographical footprint serving the communities in Riverside, Coachella Valley and Temecula, this area offers both the stability of the Permanente system and a high level of independence. The environment of the medical center is likened to a private practice setting with emphasis in professional autonomy alongside excellent comprehensive administrative support. Physicians are offered incredible variety—they can work in an urban setting or in rural locations with a small-town feel in our Coachella Valley/Palm Desert or Temecula satellite offices; or at one of the two medical centers in Riverside and Moreno Valley; at the foot of the San Bernardino mountains or in the desert. Yet there are strong threads that run throughout our area: the “One Riverside” culture that is focused on collaboration and exhibits first-name collegiality, healthy work-life balance, and flexibility. Its great reputation and high level of respect from patients also helps unify the area and render the caregiving experience deeply gratifying. With its exceptional growth rate—perhaps the highest in the region—the area is still evolving, with new talent and ideas arriving each week. This maintains the Riverside environment fresh, young, and exciting, with leadership opportunities being presented regularly.
