Schedule:  Traditional clinic work week, M-F; no less than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time.

Call:  Practice call shared with other eligible members in the SAMG Department of Family Medicine (Currently 1:3).

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 450+ provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a family practitioner (MD/DO) to work full-time at its Baker City location (OB optional). SAMG Baker Clinic is dedicated to providing services for a full spectrum of family medicine patients, including those with pulmonary, diabetic and arthritic/autoimmune conditions. The physician must demonstrate a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and work cooperatively with associates and other providers to include physician assistants and nurse practitioners.This position also offers the opportunity to take ER shifts at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center- Baker City, a Critical Access Hospital.
 

Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine residency program.
- Board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)  (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment).
- Obtain Oregon medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Oregon Board of Pharmacy & DEA

Facility Description:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City (SAMC – Baker City) is a critical access hospital in eastern Oregon with a Level IV Emergency Department (roughly 7,500 visits per year). The hospital has 2 monitored critical care beds and 19 beds in a medical-surgical inpatient nursing unit; inpatient services also include a step-down unit. The hospital also has two spacious ORs with 24-7 CRNA coverage. On-site ancillary services include: lab, radiology (80 slice CT), ultrasound, respiratory therapy, IV infusion (incl. chemotherapy), et al. Mobile MRI services are also available on a weekly basis.

The hospital’s active medical staff includes but is not limited to the following: an Orthopedic Surgeon, a General Surgeon, an Ophthalmologist, four Family Practitioners, a Family Practice/Sports Medicine physician, an Internist, a Rheumatologist, etc. Visiting specialists provide on-site clinic services on the hospital campus at least monthly and include the following specialties: ENT, Pulmonary Diseases and Sleep Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, General Cardiology and Electrophysiology, Medical Oncology, Dermatology, and a Foot and Ankle Orthopedic clinic. Moreover, the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group has an extensive array of subspecialties available on a consultative and referral basis and the System’s tertiary care regional medical center, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, is an ACoS certified Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho. SAMC – Baker City also is part of the Saint Alphonsus telemedicine clinical network, integrating telemedicine into the patient care experience with its remote presence robots in order to provide healing and hope close to home.
