Facility Description:

Tanner Health System is a nonprofit regional health system serving a nine-county area of west Georgia and east Alabama. Tanner’s medical staff is comprised of more than 400 physicians representing 35 unique medical specialties.

As a nonprofit healthcare organization, Tanner does not operate for the benefit of shareholders, but rather for the good of the communities Tanner serves. Instead of dispersing earnings to shareholders, Tanner reinvests profits back into improving health care for communities in west Georgia and east Alabama in the form of expanded facilities, advanced technology, additional physicians and caregivers, emergency care, community outreach, educational programs and other related benefits. Location

Tanner Health System is headquartered in Carrollton, the largest city in Carroll County. A unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, West Georgia Technical College is among the fastest-growing technical colleges in the state. The college serves more than 10,000 students including credit enrollment, adult education, ESL classes, continuing education and corporate training.

Georgia Highlands College
Georgia Highlands College has served the northwest Georgia community with a solid educational foundation for the first two years of college. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, GHC is a two-year unit of the University System of Georgia. It serves students who commute from throughout a large portion of northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama.

Now enrolling about 3,800 students in transfer and career academic programs, Georgia Highlands College operates additional sites in Cartersville, Marietta and Carrollton.
