Requirements: Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO), successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency training program in Neurology, demonstration of the management of neurological patients in the last 12 months or successful completion of an approved residency or clinical fellowship in the past two years, board certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or board certification in Neurology by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry or its equivalent (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment), full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases, valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy & DEA.
Work Schedule: Typical schedule includes 32 hours per week of ambulatory clinic patient contact time plus hospital consults/ rounding and call. Traditional work week based at the Nampa clinic site, inpatient consults at SAMC – Nampa, plus call that may include evenings at SARMC – Boise.
Call: Call shared equally with other eligible members of the SAHS Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery.

Outpatient EHR: NextGen® Ambulatory EHR

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400+ provider multispecialty group practice seeking a board certified or board eligible neurologist committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and is willing to support and grow neurology practices in Nampa and Boise, Idaho within a multispecialty medical group framework. As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists have the opportunity to provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease. Providers also have the opportunity to lead and participate in clinical trials.
The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute promotes collaboration with a team of general neurosurgeons, vascular neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, vascular neurologists, neurologists, neuropathologists, physiatrists, oncologists, and neurootolaryngologists. Saint Alphonsus in Boise has a well-established interventional neuroradiology service that includes: biplane angiography, MRI/ MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and interventional stroke and aneurysm procedures. Support for the practice is bolstered by a full complement of specialists including hospitalists and intensivists. Saint Alphonsus uses a 3rd party telestroke service staffed by vascular neurologists for acute stroke coverage on nights and weekends. Technology and services available to neurologists include EMG capability in the clinic and the hospital, EEG with web-based interpretation, TCD, Botox injection and infusion capability in the clinic, and the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.
Requirements include a strong clinical neurology background as well as a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. In providing this support, you will obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System’s neurology programs across all communities we serve. This opportunity also requires granting of privileges at SARMC and other system hospitals as needed.
