Location: Boise based Geriatrics & Palliative Care Clinics, Inpatient Palliative Care Consult Service

Status:  Full-Time (Split 0.70 Clinical, 0.30 Administrative)

Schedule:  Traditional work week, M-F; no less than 24 hours of scheduled patient contact time

Call:  Outpatient call responsibilities shared equitably with colleagues

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 450+ provider multispecialty group practice offering an excellent opportunity for a Geriatrician/Palliative Care Physician (MD/DO) to work full-time in a clinical and administrative capacity, directing SAMG's new Enhancing Care Initiative (ECI).  The ECI provides interdisciplinary team care to patients with complex chronic medical conditions.  The ECI includes Geriatrics and Palliative Care Clinics, as well as an inpatient Palliative Care Consult Service.  It is staffed by Geriatric and Palliative Care physicians who work in collaboration with nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, social workers and a chaplain to provide comprehensive care to patients with serious and/or complex illnesses.   

Support: Strong administrative and organizational support for the mission of the ECI.  Full-service, 368-bed, acute-care hospital, ED, and a wide range of subspecialists and state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies on campus. Level II Trauma Center.  Network of employed, contracted and alliance primary care and specialty care providers across the region.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine Residency Program or Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Board certification through the ABFM, AOBIM or ABIM in Geriatrics or Palliative Care (or obtain certification within 3 years).
- Idaho licensure to practice medicine; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
- Experience in leadership and a proven track record of clinical program development.
