HSHS Medical Group is searching for a General Surgeon to join a very successful and rapidly growing program with St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.  St. John's Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center with 438 beds and over 600 physicians representing approximately 30 specialties and sub-specialties on the medical staff. 

The team has a mix of a mix of General Surgery, Trauma Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care.  General surgeons concentrate on clinic and scheduled surgeries.  Double boarded trauma surgeons cover trauma 24/7.  HSHS Medical Group has dozens of primary care and speciality providers referring patients to our surgeons.

St. John’s Hospital recently opened a brand new Surgery Center with 2 da Vinci Si Robots. With its innovative data sharing system and leading edge technology, our facility is top-notch in every way. We now have one of the best surgical centers in the entire country. Each of the 16 725-square-foot operating rooms is equipped with the most advanced technology and surgical tools. The Digital Technology Integration Hub (DTI) provides immediate access to up-to-the-minute patient information as well as video and data. This technology enables surgeons to quickly video conference with medical experts across the country or down the hall.  Best of all HSHS Medical Group surgeons receive first choice and premier surgery block times.
